We’re Coded for Cannabinoids.
It’s part of who we are because it’s part of our bodies. Every one of us has a system of receptors: The Endocannabinoid System. These receptors are found in our brains, all of our organs, our connective tissues, glands, and our immune cells. While these receptors perform different tasks in various parts of our bodies, there is one common goal: homeostasis. The primary purpose of the Endocannabinoid System is to maintain a stable internal environment when the external (outside of our bodies) is constantly changing.
Cannabinoids promote homeostasis at every level of biological life. These cannabinoids are found at the junction from one system of the body to another. They have been called a “bridge between body and mind”, allowing communication and coordination between different cell types. This is especially important to our nervous and immune systems, thus Cannabinoids have great positive affect on pain and healing.
More than 100 years ago, the great Thomas Edison noted that despite all of our efforts within the medical community to conquer disease, we “can’t improve on nature”. The future of our health will reflect this revolutionary medical movement.
